Clonakilty A.F.C. currently has around 300 playing members ranging from the age groups of under 6 years old to adults. Coaching standards within the club have moved with the times, with coaches partaking in FAI courses to enhance player skills. Most coaches are parent volunteers whom without, the club could not operate and every opportunity is taken to once again, to say thanks.

At youth level, the club aims to encourage and place to emphasis on skill development, fun and participation before winning, and recently introduced the Club motto of 'Fida Contentio Ante Gloriam', which translates 'Fair Play Before Glory'. Clonakilty AFC is a community club that tries to bring the game to as many people as possible, making every effort to facilitate all age groups.The establishment of an indoor over-35's and under-18's 5-a-side league are some of the initiatives being taken to promote the sport and encourage activity amongst the younger and the more mature population of the surrounding areas.   Over the past couple of years, the club has launched the Clonakilty Astro Flames eleven-a-side league, which has been successfully operated during the winter months.
