The Clonakilty
Astro Flames Leagues began back on Tuesday 11th. October 2005.
The initial first phase ran right through until February 2nd.
2006 when the league was then split into two mini leagues
for the second phase of the tournament. Points
were allocated as follows:

The
Astro Flames League had 13 competing teams in Phase One
playing off against each other once. At the end of the first
phase the 6 top ranked teams: The CourtYard, Mick Finns,Gatsby
United Ibane
Rovers Seaside
Rovers and DeBarra's progressed to Division 1 of the second
Phase of the tournament.
The teams ranked 7 to 13 from first phase: played off against
each other once in Division 2 of the second Phase of the
Astro Flames League. The teams that competed in Division
2 of Phase Two of the Astro Flames League were: Henry Ford
Tavern, Zenith-X2, Fishers Finest, CourtmacSherry Pirates,
The Roundy Ramblers, Who Are Ye? F.C. and Scannells
In the end, DeBarra's were
crowned Division 1 Champions as they fended off the challenge
of Gatsby United and The Courtyard to claim the title. A
crucial 1-0 win over The Courtyard secured the league for
DeBarra's. Fishers Finest
remained undefeated in Division 2 of the Astro Flames League
to deservedly claim the title.

Flames Cup was won by Who
Are Ye? F.C.
who defeated the much fancied DeBarra's 2-0 in the final and
denied them the double. The Astro Flames Shield was won by
Mick Finns
who upset the odds and defeated The Courtyard 2-0 in the final. |
